Tiger Talk

The Week Gone:

This week saw the underage still struggling for numbers due to around ten injuries the boys only fielded 16 against a Southern Storm outfit. The storm opted to field 16 players as well in what was a fiery contest. Kyle Buck had a day out kicking five majors and the boys went down by 31 points against a side that will be thereabouts for the flag. Certainly some great signs for our young guys!

The Reserves kicked away in the first half looking like they could go on to a big win. The pressure dropped off late in the second quarter before a disappointing third quarter. The Tigers however fought to come from behind twice in the dying minutes and take a one point win which keeps them in touch with the top five (perecentage outside at present).

The Seniors started poorly dropping five goals in the first quarter. Our first half wasn’t up to scratch to head in to the main break 38 points down. The third quarter we lifted our pressure and played the Tiger way but perhaps didn’t quite capitalise on chances. A competitive last quarter wasn’t quite enough with the Tigers going down by 23 points. Our best footy on the day was on the mark, but it was needed for longer periods. Honourable mentions to Huxley who had a day out kicking four goals,

The Girls played on Sunday with their inexperience showing, going down to a classy Cygnet side.

This week sees the Tigers taking on Lindisfarne, who have for a long time bench a benchmark of the competition. We look forward to the challenge and wish all our sides luck on the day!
