Tiger Talk – 28 August 2015

Coaching Appointment for 2015

Following an extensive review of the Football Department, 2016 will see the club investing in additional Coaches including the creation of a Junior Academy. The club is also pleased to announce that Steven Woods has been re-appointed as Coach for 2016 in a show of faith for the direction which the club is heading!

Match Report

Two weeks in a row two wins and another one in the wind for this week.  THE TABLES ARE TURNING.  Our Reserves struggled last week and gave Cygnet their first win of the season but they have a chance to redeem themselves this week.  The seniors didn’t just win but took the opportunity to bury the opposition and I cannot remember the last time we have done that.  Look out season 2016.Results

This week

This week sees us travel to Lauderdale to take on the East Coast Bombers and we are looking forward to seeing lots of supporters along with two wins so get along and enjoy a great day out.The Den will be open on Saturday night from 7.15pm, a DJ will be playing and there will be a $5 cover charge. Hope to see you there.
This will be followed by the 100 club (from Midday) on Sunday so there is plenty of entertainment to be had on the weekend.

Best & Fairest

Last week I said to place the best and fairest night in your diary so please do so. The only difference is this week we will print the date and time being September 19th at 7pm in the den.

Update on Tom Pybus

Our best wishes go out this week to Tom Pybus after he suffered an unfortunate collision with a Cygnet player last week and has been in hospital since.  On my visit yesterday (Wednesday) Tom was all excited because while he had his spleen removed the surgeon has told him there is no reason he cannot play football again. Along with Tom being the major injury we do resemble the walking wounded with injuries from dislocated shoulder, broken collarbone, fractured finger, concussion through to sprains and half of these are not from playing football.

This will not be our last newsletter for the year but it is time to thank a few (actually quite a few) people in our club.  Firstly the players for wearing the jumper with pride and in the main for having a real crack at winning games. To our coaches and support staff we thank you.
To our volunteer staff of trainers, scoreboard attendant, time keepers, canteen personnel, gate keepers, water persons, bar attendants , match managers, junior club personnel and property stewards without all your support we would not be able to survive.
To our sponsors from major through to those who buy a raffle ticket we thank you as once again your support has enabled us successfully operate for 2015.

Two Players to Say Farewell

This weeks game against East Coast will see the Tigers Farewell two great clubmen and long time players. Unfortunately Josh Dykes will miss a ‘farewell game’ due to injury. Mark Beck (Playing Senior Assistant Coach) is also hanging up the boots, but will likely still be around the club in 2016. Thanks to both players for their contributions to the club!
