Well Saturday is a new beginning and a tough ask is at hand with the visiting side Cygnet are full of confidence and playing a great brand of football.  Our last encounter was a very physical game and we expect nothing different this week.  Saturday is also the President’s lunch with special guest Jamie Shanahan on the couch reliving a stellar career. We look forward to welcoming all the guests and sponsors to our football club on the day.

This week has included some good news with the appointment of a number one ticket holder now until the end of 2017 and what an awesome person to have around the club.

John_XThis gentleman has a career that includes a career on stage, radio, television and corporate entertainment in Tasmania for over 20 years. Beyond his home state, his roles include: Stewpot in South Pacific for Opera Australia, Mitch in Threepenny Opera for Malthouse and STC, Mr Braithwaite in Billy Elliott The Musical for Universal/Working Title, Pumbaa in The Lion King for Disney Theatrical Productions (Melbourne and Shanghai), Spider/Lord Savage in Jekyll and Hyde for TML (Korea) and Dick Woollnough/Dee Anthony in The Boy from Oz for the Production Company.

His television credits include Winners and Losers, City Homicide (7 Network), Tricky Business (Nine Network), Dance Academy, John Safran’s Race Relations (ABC). On film he has been seen in The Sound of One Hand Clapping and the list goes on and on.  By now I trust you have realised who our number one ticket holder is   the one and only John Xintavelonis.  We welcome John to the Hobart Football Club and we are sure he will bring another dimension to our club.

New Norfolk Game

The other big news is that New Norfolk are working away in the background preparing for a gala day when we visit them on the 23rd of July.  We will again be broadcasting the game and hope it will not only be broadcast by Edge Radio 99.3 FM but also by the local community radio in New Norfolk.  More on this one in the next week.
